Business Studies with Finance & Insurance QQI Level 5 - Course Code: 5M2102
This course offers a wide range of subjects that provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge in many areas of business and particularly in the areas of financial services and insurance. It also provides the chance to obtain up to date administration and IT skills necessary for a business environment today. It provides students with the opportunity to produce financial statements, using the most up to date accounting software.

1 academic year full time – 5 days per week.

Some employment opportunities include: insurance, financial services, setting up your own business, administration, customer service, accounts payable/receivable clerk, or other areas of business in both the public and private sectors. EDUCATION PROGRESSION OPTIONS
Students who successfully complete this Level 5 course may have the option to continue their studies at the Centre, progressing to our QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Business. Successful completion of our QQI Level 6 Course in Business Management may allow students to apply directly for advanced entry to 2nd year of a Business Course leading to an Honours Degree at Carlow IT. LIT Thurles are offering students advanced entry to Year 2 of selected Business Courses.
Students who have satisfied the criteria set by the CAO process for progression to third level education, may secure a place in the National Universities of Ireland and many of the Institutes of Technology on various Degree Programmes. Alternatively, students may progress to an Accounting Technicians course (ATI), or to an IPASS (Irish Payroll Association) course. There are no tuition fees payable to Abbeyleix Further Education and Training Centre. However, please note that there are costs involved in taking a course e.g. materials, additional training and QQI exam fees. A student registration fee must be paid on joining the course.
VTOS/PLC places are available on the course (please contact the Centre for further information). The range of financial support available to students includes: Student Maintenance Grant (SUSI) and the Back to Education Allowance. For further information click on HEA Student Finance and SUSI
